Five years ago I was in the middle of my twenties and living out of a suitcase at my parents house. I had just returned from a four months of galavanting around Europe and I was just about to make the decision to “ski bum” for the season.
Throughout my European adventure, I loved keep a writing my adventures. I blogged about almost getting kicked off the midnight train to Krakow, creatively gaining free access to a Rammstein concert, getting lost, getting found, and the new appreciation for my own country.
When I moved to the mountains for a season of marginal employment and good times on the slopes, I kept up blogging. I ranted about popcorn air-poppers, raved about the best thrift store finds, and waxed poetic about Noma GT Snow Racers.
As the ski season dwindled to an end, I made the decision to stay in the mountains and wrote my final post on the millennial struggles of finding employment. As a person stuck in one place now working for a living, my life no longer seemed blog worthy.
Since then, I’ve frequently threatened to start blogging again. To quote a friend from a drunken conversation about doing this very thing, I need to “just fucking do it.
